FUNdamentals in Science and History Through Film students took a trip to Granite Falls to be a witness to time.
They stopped at an overlook to see the Minnesota River which is what remains from the melting glaciers that created Lake Agassiz. The Great River Warren was the outlet to this giant lake and carved out the river valley.
They posed for a photo on and in front of a Morton Gneiss rock outcrop which is believed to be someone of the oldest rocks on Earth at 3.8 billion years old!
They also went to the Fagen Fighters WWII museum and got to witness a vintage plane take off!

Today, our 6th graders enjoyed a special visit from Mrs. Nelson, who shared the rich history of the G.A.R. Hall in Litchfield—one of only two still open in Minnesota!
She taught us about Minnesota’s role in the Civil War, the soldiers and weapons used, and local connections to the G.A.R. Hall. Students were especially intrigued by the "War by the Numbers" and stories of real people from our area.
Before heading to the G.A.R. on Friday, Mrs. Nelson challenged students to:
1️⃣ Learn something new
2️⃣ Find something they think is awesome
